Ich habe Jean Muller Milord 2022 auf der documenta fifteen kennen gelernt. Dort war er als Mitglied des Künstlerkollektivs atis resitan an der Ausstellung beteiligt und betrieb unter anderem einen Verkaufsstand auf dem ich eines seiner Kunstwerke erstand. Wir blieben auch nach der documenta in Kontakt und er schilderte mir, dass er in Port au Prince eine Kunstschule betreiben würde für die er jetzt einen Raum anmieten wolle. Ich bot ihm an, daraus ein Projekt für Container-Art-Project zu machen und habe die Jahresmiete übernommen. Inzwischen hat sich der Schulbetrieb gefestigt und mehr als hundert Werke der Kinder sind in Hamburg angekommen und wir planen eine Ausstellung.

I met Jean Muller Milord at documenta fifteen in 2022. There he was involved in the exhibition as a member of the artist collective atis resitan and, among other things, ran a sales booth where I purchased one of his artworks. We stayed in touch after the documenta, and he told me that he was running an art school in Port-au-Prince, for which he now wanted to rent space. I offered to turn it into a project for Container Art Project and covered the annual rent. The school has now become established, and more than 100 of the children’s works have arrived in Hamburg, and we’re planning an exhibition.
